Made for M4B audiobooks
M4B is the audiobook cousin of the M4A file. It holds a whole book in one file, with chapter markers and cover art built in. Audiobooks reads all of that, so a book you drop in shows up with its chapters, artwork, and length ready to go.
It plays the file exactly as it is. Nothing gets re-encoded or uploaded, and there is no DRM layer in the way. If it plays on your Mac, it plays here.
Play an M4B file on your iPhone
- Add the file from Files or AirDrop, or send it from your browser over Wi-Fi transfer.
- Open Audiobooks. The book lands in your library with its cover and chapter list.
- Press play. It saves your place, so you can stop and come back right where you left off.
What you can do while you listen
- Move through chapters, or drop a bookmark anywhere you want to return to.
- Set a sleep timer, end it at the chapter break, or have it start on its own at your usual bedtime.
- Change speed from 0.25x up to 4x, with a custom skip of 15 to 60 seconds.
- Undo an accidental skip, share a clip up to 60 seconds, and check your listening stats.
- Add a home screen widget for the book you are on.
Have MP3 audiobooks too? The same player handles MP3 files, and it can also stream from an Audiobookshelf server.
